Different Types Of Insurance That Can Be Bought Online

There is virtually no type of insurance that can’t be bought online at this very moment. The list below is not comprehensive, but it will at least give you a summary of the main types of insurance available online.

Life Insurance: This type of insurance will pay out a previously agreed amount in the case of the death of the insured. It’s highly recommended when the insured is the main bread winner of a family or a partner in a business operation who brings in a significant percentage of the income of that partnership.

Health Insurance: This covers the cost of medical expenses in case of illness. There’s a myriad of policies available on the market. Some cover only hospitalization, others include visits to medical doctors. Some offer a limited amount of cover per year, while the good (and expensive) ones offer 100% cover against any possible sickness that might hit you or your family.

Car Insurance: A car insurance policy will pay out in case you are involved in an accident with your car. A comprehensive policy covers both the damage to your own vehicle and the property of others, while a third party, fire and theft policy only covers damage to the other person’s car and the theft or destruction by fire of your own vehicle. This type of policy is much cheaper than a comprehensive one.

Household insurance: If you live in a house or apartment and you have a substantial number of valuable possessions, such jewelry, laptops, paintings etc. It’s advisable to take out household insurance, which will cover you against the loss of these possessions as a result of theft, fire or other similar mishaps.

Motorcycle insurance: Many people with motorcycles or even scooters don’t realize that, although the vehicle itself might not be worth a lot, it can still do a lot of damage when involved in an accident. The owner could still end up having to pay out thousands if he should cause an accident with his motorcycle. The latest, powerful motorcycle models are of course often more expensive than most motor cars and only a very irresponsible person will drive it in traffic without being insured.

Commercial Insurance: This is one of the most complicated forms of insurance. It’s aimed at the business owner who is involved with transactions with third parties on a daily basis. Not only do you need to insure your office equipment, business vehicles and the tools and machinery in your factory, you also need to look at insuring the lives of your partners and protect yourself against potential negligence claims, fires and floods to name but a few.

Travel insurance: With more and more people traveling for both leisure and business every year, this form of insurance is getting increasingly important. Travelers need to insure themselves against the cost of canceled flights and the potentially disastrous cost of emergency medical treatment when they are outside their own country. The cost of this type of insurance is relatively low compared to the potential benefits.

Buying insurance online gives you the opportunity to compare all the different types of policies mentioned above in peace and quiet, in the comfort of your home or office. It offers information without pressure – something a “live” consultant is unfortunately not always likely to deliver.
